- World Mental Health Day Theme 2001

After two decades, this dream is yet to achieve.

Some Bitter Facts

In Today’s India

  • More than 14% of the Indian population suffers from some kind of Mental Illnesses. Ironically, the mental patient has to fight two battles at the same time; One against illness and the second against its stigma.
  • India accounts for around 36.6% of suicidal deaths across the globe.
  • As per WHO estimates India will bear an economic loss of 1.03 trillion due to mental health conditions.
  • WHO further states that in India, per 100,000 population there are only 0.3 psychiatrists and  0.07  psychologists. While the desired number should be above 3 psychiatrists and psychologists per 100,000 population.

Our Mission

No Person with Mental Illness Should Be Deprived From Mental Health Care.

Sometimes it is treatment inaccessibility, social stigma or unawareness about the possible illness.  It makes the disease more severe Thus, at Anandachitta, we aim to make the treatment reality.

We aim to cover the gap between persons with mental illness and mental care service providers.
